Can you make links in fields?

Is there a way to have a link in a field?  I'd like to put links into some of my entries (via a list) that point to some useful information on a related grammar page, but all I get is just the text.  Is there a way to make it a clickable link?  I tried just the text of the link as well as hard-coding the HTML in the list and neither worked.
