Hi there!

I have a simple problem: For each lexeme in my file, I make entries in two languages (English and national language) for the section "reversal entries". However, when I try to open the entries with "Reversal indexes" I can only open the English English reverse entries, not the ones in the second language/national language. I tried to change the settings in the configure section, but couldn't figure out where the problem is.

Thanks for any help you can offer :)

greetings,
Marek

Which version of FW are you using?
I think this is an issue in 8.12...

In FieldWorks 8.2.x and earlier, it was necessary to do a command to “Insert Reversal Index”.  However, in FW 8.3.x and later, that is no longer required.

If you are doing much with reversal indexes, I highly recommend upgrading to FW 8.3.x before you go any further.  A lot of things have changed in that area, and you will be happier if you start working with the newer features sooner rather than later.  Some things might be harder to get into the improved state if you do very much in the older version.

Hi Beth,

thanks for your advice. I actually use 8.3, so the problem must be something else...

I figured out that if I simply change the order of writing systems I use in my project I get what I need (that is the second reversal language becomes the first language and therefore the language shown in reversal indexes) :)

The second reversal index language is not there in FW9 either.

I have added the reversals in English and Hindi:

There is no choice for the Hindi index:

I was having similar trouble with reversal indexes in FW8.3 recently and
couldn't work out what was going on. Perhaps there is a bug...

Craig.
