Entries Pane

Whenever I switch to a different section (Texts & Words, Grammar, etc.) and come back to the Lexicon Edit view, my Entries pane adds back in "Semantic Cat Gloss" and "Target Equivalent". I edit the columns to not display those, but if I go somewhere else in FLEx and come back, they're there again. Is this a bug? Do I need to reset something?

Using 9.3.5.1379 Beta 64 bit, but the problem was there in the previous beta.

I have the same version of FW that you do, so I tried to reproduce what you describe in one of my projects. It took a bit of trial and error, but in the end I was able to see the same behavior that you are.

 

What appears to be happening is that custom fields are not being handled correctly in the Browse pane of the Lexicon Edit view. When you navigate to the Lexicon Edit view from somewhere else, all custom fields are automatically added as columns in the Browse pane. (For a project with a lot of custom fields, this could be a nightmare!)

 

This bug was reported back in November as “inconsistent behavior” and is logged in the JIRA bug-tracking database used for FLEx as LT-22316. I have added a comment to help the developers understand what you and I have experienced. Hopefully this bug will be given priority and fixed before too long. Thank you for bringing the problem to my attention so that the “inconsistent behavior” can now be better defined.
