Hi all,
Hi Alistair and Ryan,

I was thinking, since the maintainers of the project don't really have time to put much work into it, and there are more and more pending patches... What would you think about moving to Git and GitHub ?

 * GitHub has *a lot* of potential contributors.
 * The workflow for users to submit patches and for maintainers to accept them is much simpler here.
 * This should not break things, as we can migrate issues, and just redirect the legacy google code repo to the new one seamlessly.

I think this could help offering a second life to the project, and make it move forward again.

What do you think ?

Cheers,
Julien

Hi Julien,

If you think moving it to Github will attract more developers then I
certainly have no objections.

I assume the groups forum will continue?

Alistair.

Yes, the mailing list will remain this one.

I will setup a mirror at Github, and if everything is OK (issues, downloads, source code, wiki) we can redirect the Google code repo to the new one. Else the mirror can just stay a mirror.

Alistair, Ryan, can you give me your Github logins and the mail registered in your Github account if you have any ? This way I can properly import the source code, and give you owner rights on the repository.

Hi all,

I have setup the Github repository, everything seems to be OK: source code, wiki, issues and downloads. I have enabled the redirections on the Google code repository (nothing has been lost, we can disable the redirections at any moment).

Cheers,
Julien
