Town email and web site problems

Sometime yesterday (Monday July 24th) the Town's email system
(FletcherVT.Net) stopped working; the web site is no longer working
either. We can neither send nor receive emails at the moment.

We are working on the problem, but do not really understand it at the
moment. If you need to get in touch with the Town Clerk, please call.

There is a glitch in transferring ownership of the fletchervt.net domain name, which has been attached to a personal account of mine since 2005.  The process was supposed to be transparent, but I have opened a trouble ticket with Register.com (the company who runs things behind the scenes), and will give everybody an update when I know more.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

UPDATE: services have been reactivated, but due to the nature of how the domain name system works, it might take 24 hours for full access to truly be restored.  Thank you for your patience.

It appears that the web site is up again, but Town email continues to fail.

Restoration of email services on the provider end appears to finally be complete.  Municipal users should now have some instructions in their personal accounts to take a couple final steps.

My professional recommendation is to explore use of carrier pigeons.  Have a lovely evening.

This is not really "over" until Todd turns the credentials over to the Town.  At this point, only Todd has the ability to modify both the web site and the email system, and he is not living in Fletcher at the moment.  So, the "final steps" really consist of Todd completing the transfer of power to the Town.

Indeed, I meant final steps for getting the email accounts restored.  Obviously transitions can be bumpy, as this glitch illustrates.

And thanks for the headsup about the board address.  I failed to reconfigure the group forwarding, and have just done so.  Please let me know if there are further issues.

Is "jesse-sb" configured correctly within the "sb" group?  I see an error message.

Also, I can see no way to change my password from the default.

Is there a difference between "s...@fletchervt.net" and "selec...@fletchervt.net"?

If you can get the credentials to Jesse, then maybe he can take care of the rest of this stuff without our having to bother you, Todd
