Join us for a presentation and discussion with Mr. Kim Young Hwan, who will speak about the current situation of human rights in North Korea and the prospect for grass-roots democratization. Mr. Kim introduced the North Korean Juche ideology to the South and indoctrinated a majority of South Korean student movement of the 1980s. His unique position, however, gave him the insight into North Korea that eventually led him to denounce Pyongyang. He is now an active promoter of grassroots democratization and human rights in North Korea.
