Dear Fletcher North Korea Working Group,

We are pleased to invite you to a very unique opportunity - an interesting talk with the Founder of Choson Exchange (www.chosunexchange.org), Geoffrey See, next Tuesday (Nov 20th). Mr. Geoffrey has been organizing in business training program for young and high-potential North Koreans from 2009 and supporting their entrepreneurship by the program. Mr. Geoffrey will share his unique experience and insight on North Korean’s interest in entrepreneurship and business. Ambassador Robert King (Special Envoy for North Korean Human Rights Issues) also mentioned Choson Exchange as an innovative organization in his speech at Fletcher few weeks ago. Speaker, Geoffrey See

Geoffrey See is a Researcher at MIT and the Founder and Managing Director at Choson Exchange (www.chosonexchange.org), a social enterprise focused on economic policy, business and legal training for exceptional young North Koreans. Beyond projects helping to meet the incredible desire for learning and exchange, Choson Exchange also communicates the voice and aspirations of young North Koreans to a global audience to help humanize how we view the country. Geoffrey previously worked at Bain and Co. He was a University Fellow at Yale University and a member of the Asia Society’s Asia Leaders Program. He has also presented research on ethics, entrepreneurship and development as an award winner at the World Bank Annual Bank Conference on Development Economics (2006/2010), $20,000 Cosgrove Prize for Financial Ethics, and the APEC CEO Summit. He has an M.A. from Yale University and graduated in 2 years with a B.Sc. in Economics (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. 

About Choson Exchange

Choson Exchange, a Singapore-based non-profit organization, focuses on training young and high-potential North Koreans in economics, business and law through innovative and selective programs. Since its first program in 2009, it has trained over 200 North Koreans in North Korea, as well as overseas at start-up accelerators and policy bodies. Programs focuses on entrepreneurship, financial sector development, fiscal reform and economic strategy. In 2012, we are opening a full-time Beijing office, and will kick off an expanded program focusing on developing female entrepreneurs and managers alongside existing program areas.
