Isaac Stone Fish is Asia Editor at Foreign Policy who speaks and reads advanced Mandarin Chinese. Previously a Beijing correspondent for Newsweek reporting on politics, economics, and business, he spent seven years in China and traveled
the country widely. His articles have also appeared in the New York Times, the Economist, and the Los Angeles Times and he has appeared as a commentator on BBC, Al-Jazeera, National Public Radio, and Public Radio International, among others. He has a degree
in East Asian Languages and Cultures from Columbia University.
