Lightning Blast — Spring Series, Week 2

Hello everyone,

First, my apologies for this note coming out a bit late — it's been a hectic week at work getting ready to head out of town. Speaking of which, I won't actually be there for Week 2, as I'll be in Iceland! I'm hoping the forecast on the Potomac is a little more inviting than whatever I'll be experiencing over there.

As usual, if you're looking for crew or available to get on a boat, feel free to coordinate; though since I'll have pretty intermittent access to email this week, your best bet is probably a reply all rather than routing things through me. I'll do my best to help where I can, but don't wait on me.

On that note, Kaitlyn has shared a great opportunity worth highlighting: there's a high school student and his girlfriend, Dean Rogers and Shannon Sutula, who are available to crew this weekend and would like to sail together. Shannon has sailboat racing experience, so it could be a perfect fit — a skipper plus these two makes a fully crewed Lightning. If you're interested, reply to Kaitlyn and she can put you in touch with Dean's father to work out the details.

I'll be back in time for Week 3, and I expect to be thoroughly jealous when I hear how many Lightnings made it out on the water for this one.

The following week we will be taking my classic Lightning out to Indianapolis to race with some other classics.
