Mandy had her post-op appointment today. The doctor confirmed that what happened was quite serious and potentially life threatening. We, again, stand in awe of our good and gracious Heavenly Father who providentially protected her and provided everything necessary for the problem to be identified and the surgery to occur so quickly.

The doctor also reminded Mandy that she ought not to expect a full recovery for another three weeks or so. Yikes! Yes, it has been two weeks since she has come home from hospital, but we have a ways to go yet!

We are still waiting on the pathology report. Again, the surgeon said that visually there was nothing that caused her to be concerned. However, as the doctor said today, it is good to know this from a pathology report. So we wait.

We have been so very blessed by so many who have helped with food, cleaning, and occasional child care. We are humbled to know that so many have been willing to serve their Lord by serving us.

I am leaving for Auckland tomorrow for three days. I will be lecturing 15 hours in an Old Testament Survey 2 Block Course at Howick Baptist Church and preaching Isaiah 6 at Tamaki Reformed Baptist Church on Sunday AM.

I am not real keen to leave Mandy at this time. However, again, there are folks who have lined up to help her and the children while I am gone. For this, I am very grateful.

As I have studied and reflected on Isaiah 6 I have been reminded again how wonderful, amazing, Holy, and wholly unlike us God is. And, at the same time, how low, undeserving, base, sinful, and vile we are.

And yet, God has provided a way, The Only Way, for us to be reconciled to Him; to have our sins atoned for; to be forgiven; to be made holy; to be finally complete.

He has done this through Christ. His Son, who came, lived, died and rose again so we could be children of the living God!

That would be enough. Way more than any deserve. And yet, it pleases our Heavenly Father to preserve us, protect us, heal us, and bless us in this life beyond measure.

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? (Rom 8:32 ESV)
