Tried again today.... still stuck on "Executing Startup Services..." I am wondering if it is an issue between a windows update and/or an adobe update. As far as I know, nothing changed on my computer, between when it worked and when it stopped working.
I just switched from Mac to Windows. On my macbook I used to be able to zoom and pan using pinch and two-finger motions on the touchpad of my laptop, but on my new computer this is not working. I don't know if it's relevant, but this new laptop has a touchscreen. I found some other threads discussing a similar issue for an earlier version of indesign, and supposedly this was resolved a while back. However, running the latest version I am not able to use my trackpad as desired and it's quite frustrating as this is my preferred way of working. Is there a setting that I can change to fix this?
I don't think it's any internet related problems, as syncing works fine and quickly. I got the same issues in our office with a high-speed connection as I do at home at about 35 Mbps. The laptop was only bought last August. I run Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat and Thunderbird on it. No Office. I use Google Chrome, but I do usually have three Chrome windows open with quite a few tabs in each. Anyway, closing the unused tabs/windows down doesn't seem to improve things either. I am starting to think that it might have something to do with the laptop rather than InDesign, but it's odd that the lags happen, when the processor isn't even fully used. I wonder if it's something to do with the number fonts installed.
That said, Adobe InDesign has multiple windows that open each time you open the program. However, you can't see them by just looking at the screen because these windows are called panels. Panels appear on the right hand side of the InDesign screen, as shown below.
The software works very well. Unfortunately, I'm worried that the replacement - ie QXPMarkz will only be for Mac. It was stated on the Markzware website that a version for windows is being prepared, but this information is no longer there. Can any of the developers please write, so how will it be? Thanks!
