I have recently built a Hyper-V host on a HP Proliant ml350 G6 Windows Server 2008 DataCente rand everything seems to working for the most part. I do notice some connection issues to our domain thought. While doing some research and checking in device manager I noticed this could be do to my IPMI Interface. When I look in device manager it comes up with a error/warning and is listed in the "other devices" column. I am looking for the driver to fix this but have not had too much luck. I have checked the HP site but have not came across an update to fix it. Maybe I am not looking in the correct place, but I am hoping someone could help me out with a link to what I need.
You use the Microsoft Intelligent Platform Management Interface (IPMI) driver to query for information on the server from the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) through the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) interface. For example:

The HP ML350 G4 server is not having a ipmi interface and hence you are getting this error message. The IPMI is there on all the latest generation servers (in HP it is G5 onwards) and is used for the monitoring system health. So the only issue you are going to face is that there will not be enough support for health monitoring because of this hardware limitation. (VI Client>Configuration>Health Status will not showing all the information). I think you can safely ignore this error message.
Did this ever get resolved for you? I recently acquired an HP NC375T 4-port nic with the same controller. In my case the "netxen_nic" driver is loaded so it appears the driver was added, however, I am still unable to use the nic since none of the interfaces show up in the network configuration.
