Dear members of this forum:
As some of you know I have been promoting FLD on my area (south of
Mexico and Central America) and I have a Question for you:
FLD is a methodology that allow farmers to lead their own process of
documentation for their own experiences, this implies that before that
someone has been doing that effort, you know who? professionals,
coming from private, non gob. or gob organizations, ok?
Now I am going to speak for myself, according with our work, The
relation among farmers and professionals have to modify in new models
with space for both to participate (on different roles) if we can
succesfully promote FLD.
First to make more space for farmers to take decisions that come out
of their own process of documentation, and also for professionals that
unintentionally "filter" the farmers ideas on their own categories
(more or less depending of their own discipline), some times because
they already have the methodology, some times they have access to
computers, internet, but more interesting, because on the process they
personally know the right people to obtain government, financial or
technical support.
my question will be first of all, if you have found this situation on
your work of promoting FLD and second and more important if you agreed
that this a situation that challenge us to create or redefine working
roles for farmers and professionals?
Maybe my third question will be if I made myself clear or more
explanation will be needed to start discussing on a single concrete
subject.
Welcome all your comments and warmest regards from Mexico
