As most of us have noticed there is a general lack of young families
at most of our nudist clubs and resorts. Why are today’s clubs
populated by a predominately over 50 crowd? Why are families not
embracing a nudist lifestyle?
I think some of the blame for the lack of families goes back to the
expansion of the nudist lifestyle during the 50’s and 60’s. At that
time a nudist weekend with the family was an affordable activity. An
army surplus tent, a Coleman stove, a couple of sleeping bags and a
couple of bucks for the camp and in the gas tank were all that were
needed for a family weekend. Families were content to rough it and
enjoy some naked time together.
As those same families grew, so did their income, and with it the
desire for expanded facilities. Soon came the pool, and a snack bar
along with a place for a hot shower.
In time the pool was expanded and the snack bar turned into a
restaurant, the shower building now included a hot tub and the family
was now staying in a camper mounted in the bed of the pickup truck.
A few more years and the pool now sports a misting system along with
the new poolside bar. The restaurant now doubles as a nightclub, the
old shower building and hot tub have been replaced with a fitness
center with spa and conversation pool and yes, the pool now has its
own themed waterfall. The members are no longer content to stay in a
travel trailer, fifth wheel or motor home, they require parking for
their class A land yachts.
And we wonder where the families went! They can’t AFFORD it!
It is the intention of the Bare Campers to bring back affordable
family nude recreation. We hope to accomplish this goal by creating a
camping and recreation facility where a family can enjoy a campfire
while creating someores or enjoying a sing along, take in natures
beauty and just spend some quality time together. No matter if you
would like to pitch a tent, bring the pop-up camper that has been
sitting unused for months, or that small to medium RV (no land yachts
please) or fifth wheel you will be welcome. For those without any
camping equipment, we plan to have camping cabins where you can enjoy
the camping experience while retiring to an affordable safe haven for
the night.
Rustic does not mean you will be roughing it. The facility will
provide modern amenities including water, electricity and certainly
flush toilets. We intend to be as green as possible in our development
and will disturb our selected location as little as we can while
providing our facilities.

Campers to make this dream a reality. Please see our webpage for
