How To Change Profile Picture On AO3
AO3, or Archive of Our Own, is a fanfiction and fanwork platform that allows users to create and share their own works. One of the features of AO3 is that you can customize your profile with a user icon, which is a small image that represents you on the site. In this article, we will show you how to upload or change your user icon on AO3.
Step 1: Log in to your account
To change your user icon, you need to log in to your AO3 account first. If you don't have an account yet, you can create one by following the instructions in the [Your Account FAQ]. Once you have an account, you can log in by entering your username and password on the top right corner of the site.
Step 2: Go to your profile
After logging in, you can access your profile by clicking on your username or icon on the top right corner of the site. This will take you to your dashboard, where you can see your works, bookmarks, collections, subscriptions, and more. To go to your profile, click on the "Profile" link on the left sidebar or on the top menu if you are using a mobile device.
Step 3: Edit your profile
On your profile page, you can see your basic information, such as your pseuds, date of joining, user ID, and email address. You can also see your user icon, which is a placeholder image if you haven't uploaded one yet. To edit your profile, click on the "Edit My Profile" button below your profile information.
Step 4: Upload or change your user icon
On the edit profile page, you can change various aspects of your profile, such as your title, location, date of birth, email address, and about me section. To upload or change your user icon, scroll down to the bottom of the page, where you will see a section called "Icon". Here, you can see what icon is currently in use and a field for you to specify the image you want to upload.
To upload a new icon, click on the "Choose File" button and select an image file from your computer. The image file must be in JPG, PNG, or GIF format and must be less than 100 KB in size. The image will be resized to 100x100 pixels when displayed on the site. You can also enter a description for your icon in the "Comment" field if you want.
To change your existing icon, click on the "Delete Icon" button and then upload a new one as described above. You can also keep your current icon by leaving the field blank.
Step 5: Save your changes
Once you have uploaded or changed your user icon, click on the "Update" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes. You will be redirected to your profile page, where you can see your new user icon. Congratulations! You have successfully changed your profile picture on AO3.
