Speedtrap Ride Tuesday June 9th recap

The Speedtrap Ride brought seventeen cyclists to Elmore Tuesday evening for the ride’s latest chapter.

I( appeared earlier in the day that the ride could be rained out. Although skies were cloudy with a healthy southwest wind, riders stayed dry.

Rob Golden was the only Ghost Pepper Rider(Scott was away). Rob and Doug Metzger’s Cayenne Pepper Riders and Ken South’s Habanero Riders all rode as one group. Joe Peltier from that group reported a 20.9 mph average speed.

Andy Gundlach led a group of at least seven Jalapeno Riders to an average of 16.8 mph.

Claude Watkins left the Jalapenos for a short cut back to Elmore, and as the only Sweet Pepper Rider, reported a 15 mph average.

Ben Durant, pictured below, has been a regular Speedtrap Rider, but had been absent from the ride for quite some time. However, Ben made his first appearance in over a year last week So sorry I forgot to recognize you then. Welcome back Ben!

The next Speedtrap Ride will roll out from Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore, Ohio, next week, June 16th, at 6:30 pm.

The weather channel’s long-range forecast calls for a high temperature of 77 degrees, a WSW wind of 10 to 15 mph, cloudy skies, and showers developing later in the day. However, the chance of rain is only 40%. That’s a 60% chance of no rain!

Sign-in will begin at 6:00 in front of the bike shop. I hope to see you then!
