Speedtrap Ride Tuesday Jul 7th recap
The Speedtrap Ride brought twenty hardy cyclists to Elmore Tuesday evening for its latest chapter. It was warm, but not as hot as last week, and sunny with no rain.
Scott Lang reported a riding average of 22.2 mph for his Ghost Pepper Riders.
Bob Kayden of the Cayenne Pepper Riders returned with a 21.6 mph average.
David Barret of Ken South’s Habanero Riders had a 20.2 mph average
Andy Gundlach led six Jalapeno Riders to a 19.1 mph average
There were two riders new to the Speedtrap Ride this week. Kody Cragg is pictured in the multi-colored jersey. Welcome Kody!
Also new to the Speedtrap Ride this week is the person who has come from the farthest away ever to participate in the ride. That is Kim Murphy, who presently hails from the country of Belize! Actually Kim is serving in the peace corps there, and is visiting her brother and sister-in-law Doug and Kathy Metzger> Welcome Kim!
The next running of the Speedtrap Ride will be Tuesday, July 14th. The weather forecast calls for sunny skies, little chance of rain, and a west wind of 9 mph. However, the high temperature is predicted to be 95 degrees.
As always, the Speedtrap Ride traverses some quiet country roads in Ottawa, Sandusky, and Wood Counties. Why not give it a try! A west wind should make the return-to-Elmore portion of the ride(at least 60%) enjoyable with a nice tailwind. Sign-in begins at 6:00 in front of Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore. I hope to see you then!
