Hello Flatlanders,
One of the premier athletic events in Northern Ohio is next weekend, and I’d like to encourage our members to consider volunteering for the Ohio Ironman 70.3.
Volunteering is a great way to support the cycling community, welcome athletes from around the country, and showcase the Flatlanders’ commitment to promoting safe and enjoyable cycling in our region. Whether you’re helping with the bike course, assisting athletes, or supporting another area of the event, your time makes a real difference. As a past cyclist in the event, I know how much the competitors appreciate the volunteers.
The link to sign up to volunteer for the Ironman is
https://www.ironman.com/races/im703-ohio/volunteer. Make sure that you volunteer under the Flatlanders Bicycle Club.
Our Volunteer Captain, Kenneth Shaw Jr., is coordinating the Flatlanders’ involvement this year. If you’re interested in volunteering or have any questions about available assignments, schedules, or how to sign up, please reach out to Kenneth directly via text or email (419-787-4289 or kesh...@icloud.com). He’ll be happy to help you find a role that’s a good fit.
I hope you’ll consider joining your fellow Flatlanders in supporting this outstanding event. It’s a rewarding experience, a great way to give back to the cycling community, and another opportunity for our club to make a positive impact.
Thank you for all you do to support the Flatlanders and the cycling community. I look forward to seeing many of you representing our club at the Ohio Ironman 70.3!
Ride safe,
Andy Gundlach
