Speedtrap Ride Tuesday August 12^th recap

          The Speedtrap Ride brought twenty-five hardy cyclists to Elmore Tuesday night for the best Tuesday night ride out of Ottawa County. Although the temperature was in the 80s, it felt more like 90+, and some seemed to think the temperature may have affected their ride.

          Scott Lang led the Ghost Pepper Riders and reported a riding average of 22.6 mph.

          Doug Metzger led his Cayenne Pepper Riders to a 21.0 mph average.

          Ken South and his Habanero Riders returned with a 19.4 mph average.

          Andy Gundlach’s five Jalapeno Riders are staying consistent. They had an 18.0 mph average.

          Among the Sweet Pepper Riders was Hubert Backes. He reported an average of 15.6 mph.

          There were three riders new to the Speedtrap Ride this week: Gary Swartz, and Jen Penczyszyn and Jane Weedon. They are pictured! Welcome all of you to the Speedtrap Ride.

          After the ride, several gathered inside the bike shop for snacks, drink, and conversation.

          The long-range forecast for next Tuesday August 19^th calls for a temperature in the low 80s, a mild NNW wind, but a 50% chance of showers. However, that’s a 50% chance of no showers, so hopefully no showers will win out! Sign-in begins at 6:00 in front of the bike shop. I hope to see you then!
