Speedtrap Ride Tuesday September 2nd recap
Good riding weather brought  twenty-nine hardy cyclists to Elmore Tuesday night for the latest chapter of the Speedtrap Ride.
Scott Lang led the Ghost Pepper Riders and reported a riding average of 23.1 mph.
Bob Kayden, substituting for Doug Metzger, led his Cayenne Pepper Riders to a 21.3 mph average. Thank you Bob for leading!
With Ken South’s absence the Habanero Riders joined other groups.
Kenneth Shaw, substituting for Andy Gundlach, led the Jalapeno Riders and reported an average of 18.2 mph. Thank you Kenneth for leading! However, although Dave Barret was in that group, Dave broke away and came in ahead at 18.9 mph.
The Sweet Pepper Riders keep getting faster. Jill Simpson from that group reported 16.6 mph.
After the ride, several gathered in front of the bike shop to celebrate Kathy Metzger’s birthday. She is pictured. Happy Birthday Kathy!
Also pictured are two riders new to the Speedtrap Ride this week: Joe McEwen in the red jersey, and Randy Drewyor in the green jersey. Welcome both of you to the Speedtfrap Ride!
Ride time for next Tuesday, September 9th, will be 6:15 pm.. The weather forecast  calls for a high temperature of 79 degrees, mostly sunny skies, a 5% chance of precipitation, and a south wind of 7 mph. Sunset will be at 7:52 pm, so lights, both front and rear will be necessary, especially for slower riders. The Speedtrap Ride will continue to follow an alternate route of about 26 miles for the rest of the season, as roundabout construction continues at SR 105 and US 23. Sign-in will begin at 5:45 in front of the bike shop. I hope to see you then!
Coming September 30th: Vintage Bike Night and Pizza!
