Speedtrap Ride Tuesday June 2nd
The Speedtrap Ride, one of America’s great Tuesday night rides, will hold its next chapter tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2nd. Cyclists will leave Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore, Ohio, at 6:30 pm.
The weather for tomorrow’s ride will be almost perfect for riding: a temperature in the low 70s, sunny skies with no chance of rain. There will, however, be an ENE wind of about 8 mph at ride time, but it will be diminishing as the evening progresses.
Scott Lang will be on hand to lead the Ghost Pepper Riders. The riding average speed of the group is likely to be 23+/- mph. Are you up to the challenge?!
Doug Metzger will take out his Cayenne Pepper Riders over the same 25-mile course. Average speed is likely to be 21 to 22 mph.
Ken South and his Habanero Riders will likely average 20+/- mph.
The Jalapeno Riders, led by Andy Gundlach, are on the move! Last week’s average was 18 mph. Will the group top that this week?
All others who would like to ride at a more casual pace will form the Sweet Pepper Riders, and will probably cut off a few miles from the standard course.
After the ride, several may gather in and outside the bike shop for drink and good conversation.
Pictured is perennial Speedtrap rider Candy Langoria. He gets bonus miles on every ride, as he rides from home and then back again after the ride.
The Speedtrap Ride is a joint venture of TAB and the Flatlanders. Why not give it a try! Sign-in begins at 6:00 in front of the bike shop. I hope to see you then!
