Speedtrap Ride Tuesday August 26th recap
The Speedtrap Ride brought twenty-eight hardy cyclists to Elmore this past Tuesday for its latest edition.  Weather was cooler than it has been with a slight northwest wind, but those conditions didn’t hamper riders.
Scott Lang led his Ghost Pepper Riders to a 22.8 mph average.
Dave Stover, substituting for Doug Metzger, led the Cayenne Pepper Riders and reported a 21.0 mph average. Thank you Dave for leading.
Ken South reported a 19.1 mph average for his Habanero Riders. However, John Galdeen from that group came in slightly ahead and had a 19.2 mph average.
Andy Gundlach’s Jalapeno Riders are staying pretty consistent. Andy reported a 17.9 mph average
The Sweet Pepper Riders came in last, but Jill Simpson from that group had a 16.4 mph average.
Pictured are some Jalapeno Riders on the road. Thank you Andy Gundlach for those photos. Pictured are some Sweet Pepper Riders as they left Elmore. And finally there is a photo of two long-lost “brothers” Ken South and Ken Shaw, who found each other on the Speedtrap Ride! Thank you Tony Mazurek for that photo!
Next Tuesday, September 2nd, the Speedtrap Ride will keep the same start time at 6:30 pm. The weather predictions for next Tuesday are a high temperature of 80 degrees, partly cloudy skies, a 12% chance of precipitation, and an ENE wind of 6 mph. Sunset will be at 8:03 pm, so front and rear lights will be necessary, especially for slower riders. Sign-in begins at 6:00 in front of the bike shop. I hope to see you then.
