Speedtrap Ride Tuesday June 23rd
The Speedtrap Ride, still one of America’s great Tuesday night rides, will hold its next chapter tomorrow, Tuesday, June 23rd, as cyclists roll out from Spoke Life Cycles in Elmore, Ohio, at 6:30 pm.
The weather for tomorrow’s ride appears to be favorable for riding We have had rain and/or wind for several weeks. However, it is predicted to be sunny, with a temperature of 76 degrees, 0% chance of rain, and a NNE wind of 6 mph diminishing as the evening progresses.
Scott Lang will be there to lead the Ghost Pepper Riders with a 23+/- mph average. Can you handle the excitement?!
Doug Metzger will take out his Cayenne Pepper Riders and likely return with an average of 21 to 22 mph.
The Habaneros, led by Ken South, will average 20+/- mph.
Andy Gundlach’s Jalapeno Riders are likely to bounce back from two weeks ago and average 16 to 19 mph.
All others who would like to ride at a more casual pace will form the Sweet Pepper Riders. The group is likely to cut off 2-3 miles from the standard route.
The Speedtrap Ride, a joint venture of TAB and the Flatlanders Bike Club, does travel on quiet country roads in Ottawa, Sandusky, and Wood Counties. This is one reason the Speedtrap Ride has remained popular for over ten years. If you haven’t ridden it, why not give it a try! Sign-in begins at 6:00 in front of the bike shop. I hope to see you then!
Pictured is perennial Speedtrap Rider Bob Kayden with wife Becky. A strong rider, Bob usually rides with the Cayenne Pepper Group!
