What You Need

Before you start, you need to have the following items ready:

    • A valid ZWCAD network license file (.lic) that contains your serial number and authorization code. You can get it from ZWSOFT or your local reseller after purchasing a network license.
    • A server computer that meets the system requirements of ZWSOFT Network License Manager. This computer will host the network license file and serve as the license server for your clients. It should have a static IP address or a domain name that can be accessed by your clients.
    • Client computers that meet the system requirements of ZWCAD. These computers will run ZWCAD and connect to the license server to obtain a license.

    How to Install ZWCAD Network License on Your Server

    Follow these steps to install ZWCAD network license on your server:

      • Run the ZWSOFT Network License Manager installer on your server computer and choose the Install Network License Manager option.
      • Choose the 32-bit or 64-bit version according to your server's operating system.
      • Click Next to run the setup wizard.
      • Click Finish when completed.
      • Launch the ZWCAD Network License Configuration from the Windows Start Menu.
      • Go to the Config Services tab.
      • Select (or type to create) a name for the network licensing service.
      • Find and specify the paths to the following three necessary files: lmgrd.exe, LicenseFile.lic, debug.log. You can use the Browse buttons to locate them. The lmgrd.exe file is located in the installation folder of ZWSOFT Network License Manager. The LicenseFile.lic file is the network license file that you received from ZWSOFT or your local reseller. The debug.log file is a log file that records the license activity. You can create it in any folder you want.
      • Tick the two check boxes on the tab: Use Services and Start Server at Power Up. This will make the network licensing service run automatically as a Windows service and start when your server boots up.
      • Click Save Service to save the configuration.
      • Go to the Start/Stop/Reread tab.
      • Click Start Server to start the network licensing service. You should see a message saying Server Start Successful in the lower left corner.
      • Go to the Server Status tab.
      • Click Perform Status Enquiry to check the status of the network licensing service.
