Hi,

I wonder if anyone on this list has any elaborate use-cases that they solve using torcx, that go beyond the basics of what is shipped with Flatcar OS images. Right now we ship dockerd+containerd as a torcx package, but one that is part of read-only /usr partition.

If anyone here overrides torcx packages/profiles, or builds their own, or remembers some other important reason why they relied on torcx in the past - I'd love to hear from you. These could help inform our design decisions going forward.

Hi Jeremi,

I am currently using torcx to overlay Flatcar with the following functionality / building blocks:

https://github.com/mback2k/torcx-qemu-ga -> QEMU guest agent
https://github.com/mback2k/torcx-pypy -> PyPy to be able to manage Flatcar nodes with Ansible
https://github.com/mback2k/torcx-htop -> nice single-node process/resource monitoring to debug issues
https://github.com/mback2k/torcx-kube-node -> Kubernetes node components, should be self-explanatory
