Hello Team,
Here are some very important instructions which you should remember for the event.
1. The Mock Fire Drill would start at 4 pm this Friday
2. We should ideally take about 10 mins or less to all assemble at our safe assembly points.
3. After your company ERT team takes count of the HC present, there is likely to be some Fire Hydrant demonstration.
4. As soon as that is over, they are going to announce that the mock drill is officially complete.
5. At this point of time, the Music would start and there is going to be a 30 sec intro music before the actual song would start.
6. This 30 secs should give you ample time to get from where you are assembled to the amphi theatre area
7. Once the actual music starts the dance is in progress and each of you pl find a suitable entry point from the audience so that you can come and join the group at the appropriate point of time.
During the Dance.
1. In order to distinguish the dancers and also to make it a little colourful, we are expecting ALL the dancers to be having some kind of silk scarves around their neck / head / arms etc. You take it out and wear it around your neck / head / arm only when you enter the dance arena ( NOT BEFORE !!! ). We are introducing this dress code for a couple of reasons
a. The surrounding crowd would be able to identify you as a participant and would give way for you to join the group, if you are in the back
b. Would make the video a little more colorful.
c. Would be able to identify the actual participants from the enthusiastic dancers who decide to join in the last min thinking that this is a free for all.
2. There are certain times in the dance sequence, where people have to shout out.. so join the crowd and make some noise.
3. Towards the end of the song, after we punch our fists in the air for Jai Ho .. we are required to freeze in that position for 8 secs. DO NOT MOVE AFTER JAI HO. STAND STILL. There would be counting going on and only after you hear 8, put down your hands.
4. No clapping, hugging, wishing, talking to each other after the dance. All participants are expected to disperse to their respective companies immediately without any other actions.
a. The video should be able to capture the people dispersing without any reactions.
b. The video would be able to capture the audience reactions when the participants move out without any reactions.
c. This is going to be the highlight and the climax of the video. If you stay around… then it would look like completely rehearsed. Even though this event is rehearsed, the idea is to make it look “ NOT REHEARSED”
5. We would gather back in the food court at 5.30 pm to celebrate the event and to meet the participants first hand and to meet the people behind the scenes.
There are going to be 8 official cameras for the event and the editing would be completed by Sunday morning. By Sunday afternoon / evening, we would send out the link on youtube to this group.
More info to follow soon.

Manoj Balachandran
Just to confirm the Key Instructions again…
1. As you would have got instructions in the practice sessions.. the first song is going to be doing facing Genpact by the Core Group.
2. Towards the end of the first song, the group needs to turn and face Coffee day.
3. The people who join for the 2nd and 3rd dances would need to join from the amphitheatre steps.. and would be facing Coffee Day / Food court entrance. You would also have the main dancers in front of you to remember the steps.
4. There are certain times in the dance sequence, where people have to shout out.. so join the crowd and make some noise.
5. Towards the end of the song, after we punch our fists in the air for Jai Ho .. we are required to freeze in that position for 8 secs. DO NOT MOVE AFTER JAI HO. STAND STILL. There would be counting going on and only after you hear 8, put down your hands.
6. No clapping, hugging, wishing, talking to each other after the dance. All participants are expected to disperse to their respective companies immediately without any other actions.
7. The video should be able to capture the people dispersing without any reactions.
8. The video would be able to capture the audience reactions when the participants move out without any reactions.
9. This is going to be the highlight and the climax of the video. If you stay around… then it would look like completely rehearsed. Even though this event is rehearsed, the idea is to make it look “ NOT REHEARSED”
10. We would gather back in the food court at 5.30 pm to celebrate the event and to meet the participants first hand and to meet the people behind the scenes.
Pl don’t forget your scarves for tomorrow. No specific Dress codes for tomorrow. Remember you are going to be seen by thousands of people once it gets uploaded online.
Sleep well, take rest and get ready for the event of your life.
Regards
Manoj Balachandran

Yes.. I lied about the last instructions J. I have to confess that this has been an amazing 2 weeks and what a way to start the year. I am sure that most of you did not get a good night’s sleep and you were rehearsing steps in your sleep. I want to tell you guys another truth.. yes.. this is confession time. I kept stating that the steps were easy and anyone could pick it up. Truth being said… they were not easy – right ? For the non-dancers, they had to do a loooooot of practice to get these steps.. and man what a final product we have in place now. Fantastic work by each and every one of you. This would probably be the most complicated flashmob ( steps wise ) which has happened in India. Great work by the choreographers ( Deepak, Tapthi, Arathi and Jnana )
It is going to be a historic day for a lot of people in this group today. They are going to do their ‘Rangapravesham’ or Arangetram today. First time ever some folks are going to go on stage to dance. First time ever, some people are going on Stage - period. So for each of you.. Congratulations. Just have fun out there.
A last reminder of the absolute MAIN instructions
1. Towards the end of the song, after we punch our fists in the air for Jai Ho .. we are required to freeze in that position for 8 secs. DO NOT MOVE AFTER JAI HO. STAND STILL. There would be counting going on and only after you hear 8, put down your hands. It is ok to count out loud.. we will erase the audio out in the final output.
2. No clapping, hugging, wishing, talking to each other after the dance. All participants are expected to disperse to their respective companies immediately without any other actions.
Also to keep in mind
1. Don’t be conscious of the cameras around you
2. Smile and enjoy your dance performance
3. Identify a good dancer in front of you and imitate the steps.
4. If you are not too sure of the beats where you have to clap.. don’t clap.. just show the actions.
5. Be aware of the ground where you are going to dance.. be careful of where the steps end and start. Careful of wires on the ground if any.
6. Encourage people around you while you are dancing.. it really pumps up folks.
7. If you forget your scarves.. or they fall off during the dance.. don’t bother. It is not important.
This is the BEST Flash Mob team EVER. So be confident and just have fun.

And once the video is released..simply pass on the link and let your work speak for itself..

Hi Team
Please accept my congratulations for amazing performance. I observed lot of folks were using their mobile phone to capture the event. We should try to download from their mobile (if they agree), the idea is to have maximum amount of footage. We should have some action plan on this. Moreover, since they were near the stage and also in the crowd, the emotions can be brought into play.
Thanks
Partha
