You have to download the Evaluation SDK from the imagination website
and then you have to place those files into flarmanager.

http://words.transmote.com/wp/20100520/flarmanager-for-flarenft/

I still dont really get whats happening to be honest and I cant get it
to work. But as for your question, If you mean can you track objects
using coloured images then the answer is yes you can but it costs an
absolute fortune and Imagination have to approve the image. They sent
me a price list, it costs $1,500 for the most basic of packages.

Hope that helps!

If I'm correct there are licensing issues with flare*nft.

Just had a quick look, Ive heard of them before, but they dont do
prices on their website. Any idea how much it costs to track a simple
image?

yep,
but you're not going to like it :)

you need to buy very expensive subscription, and then pay % of project
revenue as a license fee.

Thanks for your replies. So then my question is, what does mean
support of flare*nft in flarmanager? if this library doesn't exist in
the package and doesn't free to use.

That simply means they technically able to work together.

exactly. the fact that flare*tracker and flare*NFT work together has nothing to do with the licensing.

if you want an "example", all you have to do is replace 'new FLARToolkitManager()' with 'new FlareNFTManager()'. as mentioned earlier on this thread, you also have to download the evaluation version of flare*NFT from imagination's site. the info is all in the link posted ealier.

FLARManager is not unconditionally "free" to use either. if you make the source code of your project that uses FLARManager readily available to anyone, then you can use FLARManager free of charge. if you want your source to remain closed, you must pay a license fee. and, of course, if you want to encourage further development of FLARManager, i'm happy to receive donations:
http://words.transmote.com/wp/flarmanager/flarmanager-donate/

of course, so far, i've gotten 2 donations, one legit one for $10, and one from a spammer for $0.10. for the record, i'm never even going to attempt to do a hybrid open source / commercial license structure again. what an unfulfilling mess.

I understood from ARToolworks that there is but I might be wrong, as for the license model you can always change it Tweenlite has a great model.

My suggestions is make the donate button stand out some more I just noticed it on the site but I use SVN and the documentation site I haven't been on the site for some time, you should also do a showcase like tweenlite in general look at his site.

I would also mention that there is other befits when doing community projects if I compare Papervision a total free open source project to Alternative 3D I think the guys from papervision get more out of it.

Thanks,
Almog

Hi,

Does anyone know if Flare*nft can be integrated with Artoolkit iOS 4.4
so that markerless detection could be possible?

Thanks

I'm looking into Flare *nft and it looks like it's 1500 eur for the
"basic" and 3000 eur for the "professional". I'm trying to figure out
what the difference is between the basic and pro... I think basic
allows you to change a few elements in an xml doc to change what files
are loaded... but I can't seem to find solid info on that part. I
would love to talk to some developers that have actually tried it.

Yes I looked into flar*ntf a couple of weeks ago for an AR project that just went online. They have a PDF will the pricing and version types.

flare*tracker Basic Full license per application & website (URL) (including 1 target) 1,500 EUR
flare*tracker Professional Full license per application & website (URL) - 3,000 EUR

flar*Basic
Our flare* basic product variants enable the web developer at beginner’s level to setup simple marker or NFT
based Augmented Reality applications. It’s as easy as uploading some file to a webserver, editing
change the look-and-feel by defining a custom background and to spec
markers (flare*tracker Basic) or natural features targets (
or flash-animations).

flare*Professional
Our flare* Professional product variants are designed for the skilled Flash/Flex developer who wants to integrate flare tracking into own applications. A simple API (with just around 10 methods) exposes all required functionality of
the tracker. Besides starting from scratch, Professional provides sample applications to build upon.

I think Guidewire has the same pdf we all have (and how come Eric doesnt)
What he asked is, it seems, if anyone actually tried "basic" version

it seems that another difference is how many markers you can use. looks like 1 with basic, unlimited with professional.
