Thisis a wireless n300 router with model number c3000 running on Windows 10. Somehow i've managed to mangle the admin password for router login (note: NOT the wifi password--i'm up and running with no problem but i can't make any changes to router settings). All the documentation however directs me to login to the router (!) to do anything I would normally do like change the password or do a factory reset. Some other models i notice have a handy reset button on the back, howeever this model does not. Any recommendation on how to get past this, or how to do a reset without having to login to router?
Hello, I have a Netgear C3000 N300 wireless modem/router, and it was working fine when I had WOW internet. But I've stopped service with them and signed up for Comcast Xfinity. Both with help on the phone and sending a technician over, and neither of them could get my modem/router to connect to the internet.
It's only about a year old so I don't see how it could be broken, and it's listed as a compatible device on Comcast's website, so I don't know what the problem is. If anyone knows what I can do to keep on using it, I'd appreciate it
Make sure you factory reset the unit by holding the reset button for 10+ seconds also make sure the ISP has you modem coded correctly in there system if you are using a different modem at the moment they will have to switch it to the c3000.
The tech support was trying to add it to their system I think; they had asked me for the make and model over the phone, and they kept saying they couldn't "see" it, and had me turn it off and on multiple times.
I have version V1.01.11. My service provider, Time Warner Cable, told me to check to see if there is an update to my firmware since the Internet seems to have gotten slower lately. When I go to 'router update' thru Genie, the following message is returned: Failed to get firmware version information. Am I doing something wrong? Or is there no update available? Or, is it an issue with Windows 10? Thank you.
All firmware is pushed out by your ISP so if there is a new firmware update all you would need to do is unplug the modem and plug it back in and it would download it on its own. Cable gateways cant update the Firmware manually.
Yes netgear has to send all firmware updated to the isp then it goes threw a approval process and the isp makes some changes if needed and releases when they are ready to this is for call cable modem customer owned or rented.
I don't really know what TWC will do to fix this but I can report to our engineers about a issues with the firmware. what are you seeing from the modem are all the lights coming on but no Internet connection?
same situation with c3000. Netgear want just money for phone warranty and can't help you because they just provide firmware to twc not to final user. I understood is a firmware problem. Twc pushed a wrong update and now the modem is almost offline and can't get a new update to solve the problem. We can't do nothing manually and just wait. they told me to leave the modem on and hope for an update in firmware that could never came. It's frustrating and you need to pay for the service
