I already have my domestic liscense so I need to add on the
international portion. Has anyone else done this already? If so, how
did you input our team name? It's not in the scroll down menue. Any
help or insight would be great.

Andy-

I sent this info in an earlier post, if you haven't done this yet please get on it ASAP as it takes a few weeks.

RACE LICENSES
Everyone needs to buy an international license from USA Cycling.  The cost is $90 on top of the normal $60 domestic license.  To get one, go to "My USA Cycling," select "Collegiate add-on" and "International license."  In the first screen you select your domestic team (whatever that may be), then in the last screen there will be a blank spot to enter an "International Team."  Both will appear printed on your license.  You should enter the following exactly as printed in the "International Team" space:

USA UNIVERSITY ALL-STARS CYCLINGCENTER

You will have to mail in a waiver for international competition, and a copy of your passport or birth certificate to prove your citizenship.  Evan and I already got ours -- mine came in about 2 weeks after I mailed the documents.

More on that...

I was talking with a friend recently who has done some racing abroad. He asked me "have you gotten your letters of permission yet?" Apparently he had to get some these letters from the people at USA Cycling before he could race in Lux & Bel. He followed up to say that they were easy to get and there's a link to request them right next to the international license info on the USA Cycling website. I have wanted to have a look by now but haven't had the time. I'll be working on this myself asap--but in the meantime we may all want to keep our eyes out for this and keep each other informed.

Cheers,

Mitch

Elliot,

I heard from Judd just last week that the money and availablilty he needed to join us ended up coming around after all. It's pretty late in the game, but I told him I'd check with you to see if we were still looking for another person in the house/on the trip.

Thanks,

Mitch

On top of needing letters of permission and since we are composite
teams, we may need to get a release from our club teams to be able to
race as the USA University All-Stars Cycling Center. I have had to
have this before to be able to race on a composite team but the USA
University ... is already on the license as the international team. I
am a bit confused on this situation.

Team-

Here's the deal with permission letters:

1) Yes, everyone needs to get a letter of permission to race in Belgium.
I was going to put this on the packing list to go out later this week,
but since the issue has come up, let me explain how to do it. It's very
easy ... just go to "My USA Cycling", scroll down to the bottom to your
"International-Elite" license information, then click "Request Foreign
Permission Letter." You can print it out online. Let me know if you
have any problems.

2) You do not need a release from your US club team. USA University
All-Stars is the official international team printed on your license.
Belgian race promoters will accept this.
