Hello Captains!

A week from tomorrow, you and your teammates will be loading up and heading to Southern Oregon for the 19th annual CrampUp tournament.  We are looking forward to hosting you for what should be another stellar tournament and wish you all safe travels.  I just wanted to touch base about a few things...

First, the fields location is the same as last year...  Fichtner Mainwaring Park-->http://g.co/maps/4ptd9 in Medford, OR which is bordered by W Stewart Ave on the North, S Holly St on the East, and Holmes Ave on the South and is a couple miles west of Exit 27 off of I-5.

Second, the party will be taking place at The Venue at 1029 Narregan St-->http://g.co/maps/qszfg in Medford.  This old slick cart track should offer ample space for food, drinks, dancing, and games.  Dinner is again being catered by La Tapatia, one of the Rogue Valley's finest Mexican eateries.  

And, as is our custom we strive to create as little waste as possible during the weekend.  There will be recycling and composting on the fields again.  

Please encourage your teams to bring reusable cups and plates for use at the party.

I've attached a document containing a variety of lodging options.  Thanks to the Medford Chamber of Commerce, all of the hotels/motels on the list are extending their soccer tournament discounts to our tourney teams.  (Medford hosts a LOT of soccer tournaments)  So, ignore the distances to the US Cellular fields as that is NOT where we are playing but all other information applies and you must CALL the front desks directly to get the discount rates.  As we all know, you may find cheaper prices online but know there are a few shady motels in Medford so if in doubt please ASK ME.

Captain's meeting will begin promptly at 8:30AM on Saturday with first games to begin at 9AM.  

I hope to have brackets to you late next week.  Teams playing next weekend include...  Flaming Chickens, Breakers Mark, the 1%, Engine 45, Rowboat, Sparkle Bomb, Midnight Whiskey, Oakland Shipping Company, friends from Humboldt, Tire Fire, PSU, and two local Rogue Valley teams.  Much like Gandy Goose last month, that leaves us with an odd number of teams so if you happen to know of a team looking for a tourney to play in next weekend....?

And, we are USA Ultimate sanctioned and most of you I'm sure know the drill.  Our sanctioning guru Kellen will be sending you a message by this weekend so that you can take care of all your rostering and waiver needs online.  Please try to have all that business taken care of before next Saturday morning's captains meeting....  THANKS!
