Just got my Pugsley built up this weekend but so far have only ridden
up around observatory mesa. The forest service road off of kinlani (FR
518 I think) was awesome due to car tracks so I'll be heading out that
way tomorrow if anyone wants to meet up and ride.

Rode out 151 yesterday and a bit of mud at the bottom but great otherwise. Rode up to a bit short of Bismark Lake turn off.

I think Spandex (Jim Biddle) got out yesterday towards fishers point
for a bit and said that the conditions were decent out there, except
where a forest service truck drove and was lighting the controlled
burns.

Keep thinking that I'll get out and ride the snowmobile tracks around
Kendrick Park one of these days. Has anyone every done that?

I went out yesterday and rode fr 515 with intentions of riding through the backside of Baderville and over to 164B, but there were no tracks leading out there to follow. So I ended up doing an out and back on A-1 Mountain road, coming back on the urban trail down  on mars hill which was the most enjoyable part of the ride. There are 4 wheel drive tracks out on the mesa but as on Jan. 1 that road will be closed to motor vehicles. I'd be down to check out the snowmobile trails since I'm realizing that packed trails are necessary.

Derek - looking forward to hearing how the snowmobile trails are.

Spandex - I have to plow for you because you pick crappy lines.

Woohoo, I need to get out soon. After seeing the Moonlander and
Benson's Salsa at Revolution yesterday, I am needing a phat phix.

Merry Christmas everyone,
Brian

I think it may be time to go have a look at the Wing mountain area. I
hear snowmobiles go out there a lot. I would be up for heading out
there Tomorrow.

I can't make it Saturday but Sunday I will be up near hart prairie riding which I've been told has a lot of snowmobile traffic.

Jim and I were able to go with Ray on the maiden voyage of his Moolander today. We parked at FS151 and rode to 794 and pedaled Hwy180 back to car. We rode on packed road and snowmobile trails and had a great time!  Highly recommended!

Awesome!  The snowmobile tracks support you ok?

I am sure that moon lander doesn't worry about flotation.

Brian - yes the snowmobile tracks supported us well. But there were
still some dodgy spots. Nothing that was not rideable however. This
was on 794 and there is quite a bit of snowmobile traffic on that
road. Riding up from 180 may be quite a bit tougher until it gets a
bit more packed down. Still, I would not hesitate to try riding it
either direction.

Mike - we only walked in the areas on 151 where the snow had drifted
over the car tracks and we slid off on a bump or other undulation. In
total we walked about 100 feet maybe. The loop was closer to 12
miles. Maybe 13.

awesome, I rode out 151 today to 180 which was a blast. Must have been a good workout for you guys because it seemed to be all down hill for me, got going pretty fast which is a lot of fun on the snow. I also checked out 164b and that seemed doable but not nearly as packed down as 151.
