Had two great snow bike rides this past weekend! First was on
Saturday with Matt Pacheco and then on Sunday with a group of sixl.
They were both fantastic days and couldn't of been better! Matt and
Ray Walker both have photos on Facebook and most are linked from the
shop page.
We have been focusing on the Schultz area as well as the AZT and dog
food and Fort Valley trails. Tracks should be pretty good for riding
there now after us breaking trail as as some skiers and snow shoe's.
Wanted to let you all know we are ordering some Surly Nate tires this
week. If anyone wants 1 or 2 the prices are:
$82.00 for 27 tpi
$117.00 for 120tpi
Those are the group prices. After riding in the powder last weekend I
am convinced it will definitely be better to have Nate's on front and
rear for this winter. You can order over the phone if you can't make
it in by Wednesday. And don't worry we can order some later as long as
they are in stock.
Also, I brought in some downhill tubes and set up my rear wheel ghetto
tubelessas a test. I'll leave the pressure up tonight and see if there
is any bleed off in the morning. From there I will test the low
pressure characteristics and see if the tire will burp at all. The
tubes I got are little overkill for this project but it is all I can
find in a 3 inch width and 24 inch diameter. Also the weight savings
is negligible but I think it might be better performance when the tire
pressures get low and hopefully I won't have to worry about pinch
flats. More info on this soon.
And lastly, FlG Bike Revolution
Looking forward to hearing how the tubeless goes at uber-low PSI. If
it works, I'd love to hear how much Stans, tire, rim, and any other
tricks to make them tubeless. I've gone tubeless on some stans rims w/
yellow tape, but not ghetto.
