Peaceful Cities in Florida?

Hi,

My name is Joel, I'm 21 years old and currently live in Panama City Beach,
Florida. Although there are certain things I like about living in Florida, my
main complaint is the crowds. I know that when you live in Florida you sort
of have to share it with everyone else (I'm from New York originally myself)
but to me too many people can take away from even the most beautiful of
places.

I'm looking for a city in Florida that's void of crowds and the spring
break phenomenon, a place that's not too small, a place where you're able to
claim a piece of the beach as your own. Does anyone know of such a place? I
thought of Melbourne, but I'm not sure how good of a choice that would be.
