florida keys family vacation?

Hi!

I've never traveled to the keys before but would like to take my wife
and son down...I'm looking for something that would be suitable for a
family (less partying). My wife is a nature lover and would enjoy
things along those lines. I'd also like to keep the tourist-y stuff at
a minimum but still have a few things to do. Can anyone recommend a
place in the keys or even in FL (treasure island?)?
