what the purpose of this newsgroup is, considering that I've monitored it
for some time now and haven't seen a single post to it. Is this for
restaurant operators doing business in Florida, restaurant patrons
expressing their opinions, or what?

As a fine-dining (and maybe not so fine!) enthusiast I'd enjoy hearing of
others' experiences in Florida restaurants, and perhaps sharing some of my
experiences as well. Since I subscribed to this newsgroup some weeks ago
I've never seen any activity at all, so if no one else minds I'll try to
come up with some interesting ones to get the ball rolling. Any guidance on
format, content, or level of controversy (or lack thereof) would be
appreciated. For example, how much is a restaurant's wine list considered a
factor? How about entertainment, if any? Are comparisons to restaurants from
elsewhere acceptable, or is there a newsgroup equivalent to that
oh-so-famous Florida bumper sticker "We don't care HOW it's done up North!"
Will anyone get their jockey shorts in a wad if someone disses what others
consider an Epicurean shrine? Perhaps a FAQ sheet with some guidelines would
be of use here . . . .
BTW I've lived in metro Orlando for over a decade now, traveled some
throughout the state (both business and pleasure), and had worked for Walt
Disney World for almost half that. Oh, yeah - I can tell some stories, all
right! };-D

advertise WWW links. Discusions relating to experiences (Both good or Bad)
