Description:
ASIC Verification Engineer:
Purpose:
Bridge the gap between algorithm development and implementation by evaluation and verification of components and designs at the system and RTL levels.
Duties and Responsibilities:
-Capture algorithms and designs at the system level.
-Verify algorithm and design perfromance at the system level.
-Evaluate floating/fixed point algorithm and design trade-offs.
-Verify algorithms and designs at the RTL level.
-Formal verification of complete communication IC prior to fabrication.
Problem Solving:
The following are examples of work assignments which require problem solving and decision making.
-Implement simulation and verification for the entire chip circuitry and supporting modules.
-Generate comprehensive test results and corresponding data.
Requirements:
BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent, advanced degree preferred
At least five years experience preferred, others levels possible for exceptional candidates
At least two of the following:
-Knowledge of digital communication theory and practice
-High level modeling and simulation experience, SPW preferred
-DSP design experience
-VHDL experience
-Experience with tools and utilities in a UNIX environment, Perl & Tcl preferred
