Responsibilities:
* Assume a lead role in the design, development and support of client-server
based applications.
* Responsible for an aggressive self-directed learning process whereby they will
become familiar with newly developed applications. From this exposure, the
candidate will become responsible for maintaining and supporting application
changes dictated by new technology and enhancements based upon marketing
decisions and customer input.
* Be a key resource in modifying the application to conform to the practices and
procedures followed by the company. This would include, but would not limited
to, the following areas; installation procedures, on-line Help procedures, new
release propagation and customer support procedures.
* External customer support, developing design documentation according to
company guidelines, application problem analysis, various testing methodologies
and researching strategic technical business directions.
Position Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in the following is required:
· Microsoft VB programming with a least 5+ years relevant experience
· 3+ years experience in large scale Mission Critical System Development
· Familiarity with Windows 95, 98 and NT Workstation environments
· Ability to work independently under pressure, have good judgement and be able
to prioritize
· Excellent organizational and analytical skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience and familiarity in the following is a plus:
· Relational database concepts and interfaces (MS Access 97 and/or MS SQL
Server 6.5)
· Experience with VB Third-party controls, OCX, DLL creation
· ASP and HTML
· Windows Scripting Host
· COM, specifically Windows Scripting Components
· Class Modules
· OLE automation and linking to external dll functions
· Loss Prevention and Risk Management exposure
· Application install development tools (InstallShieldä and/or Wise Solutions
InstallBuilderä)
· Online Help authoring exposure using RoboHELP Classic 7.0ä
Strong communication skills and working in a team environment are essential
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
Candidate must be STRONG!
Perm is preferred, but will consider contract-to-hire.
