I love cyclamens, gloxinia, begonias, and African violets, yet every one
I've ever brought into this house has died! I used to have such a green
thumb, so it's very puzzling when everything I get now turns to dust!
My house is rather warm so this may be one culprit. I'm very
cold-natured and can't handle being cold at all, so it's about 70 here
in the house in winter. The house is positioned in such a way that
direct sunlight doesn't come through any window in the front of the
house where there's room for plants and the front is on the north side
of the house. The south facing windows are in my children's' rooms, and
they don't care for having plants in their rooms. Messy as they are I
wouldn't care for them to be in there either! Is it the sunlight? the
heat? (I have liquid propane heat). I live in NC so winters are
exactly brutal. ~~D

#1, gloxinias are bulbs. They bloom, die down, and come back.

#2, everything you named needs more sun than you're able to give it.

#3, 70 degrees is not warm enough for these plants, especially sitting
in front of a window, where it is probably much colder, and they're
getting drafts.
#4, Last, but not least, propane is death to gesneriads.
