I've had one for about 8 years now. It grows - looks healthy - but has
never bloomed.

I'm in Lake County - there aren't many of them this far north but I see
several around here blooming every spring.

It may be the shade as there are a couple of oaks behind it and it seems to
want to grow toward the street, maybe looking for sun?

Hi Leighann, We've met from another ng. :) I have a Jacaranda and it
was years before it finally started to bloom. It was huge, spanning
over 2/3 of my front lawn. Then ole Hurricane Charley came along and
took out the Jacaranda, with an eight foot clump of roots and dirt.
This according to the reports I received, as I was out of state
attending to family. My lawn care man cut back the tree and replanted.
It will take years for it to get back to it's original size However, I
was pleasantly surprised to see a few blooms on the tree couple weeks
ago.

Just be patient, your Jacaranda will most likely bloom. It will be
well worth the wait.

Hey Mary Lee :) Thanks for the info. Josh hit mine with the truck and
nearly uprooted it - now it's leaning towards the street badly. After
reading about your's, I think I might try digging it up and replanting it
out in the back yard.

Mom bought that for me for my bd 9 years ago. It was in a HUGE pot and
about 12ft tall at the time - think she paid about $50 for it. I sure don't
want anything to happen to it - whether it ever blooms or not :)
