My family and I will be going to Tokyo next week and will be staying in
Shinjiku area.
Would greatly appreciate if anyone can suggest any good Japanese
restaurants or any web site we can get more information.

Also, any place to get good price electronic besides Akihabara area. Any
area to buy latest toys and electronic games for children ?
Any places we can travel for a 1 to 2 days trip around Tokyo? (besides
Hakkone)

Your help is very much appreciate.

If you don't have any special reason to hate Akihabara I believe it's the
best place both for electronics and games for children. Westside of Shinsuku
station also has several discount stores for electronics. They are smaller
than those in Akihabara but prices are as good as in Akihabara. For toys,
any department store has toy section. Unless you are looking for something
rare, I think it reasonable to go to the department store. They are plenty
in Shinjuku.

For sight seeing, Kamakura and Nikko are both about 1.5 to 2 hours from
Tokyo and possible destination for a day trip. For 2 days trip, Nagano
prefecture (mountain area) and the Boso Peninsula (Chiba prefecture: beach
resort) are popular resort destinations for Tokyo residents.

Just for your reference, we have big fireworks festival going on every
weekend (mostly Saterday night) somewhere around Tokyo. If you are around on
a weekend, it will worth a look. It's quite a show!
Enjoy your stay!
