hosts.allow での EXCEPT UNKOWN の書き方

/etc/hosts.allowに

sshd : 192.168.1.
sshd : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx EXCEPT UNKOWN

と書いたところ、

192.168.1.0/24のホストでidentdが動いていないと
当該ホストから接続できません。

xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxのみ EXCEPT UNKOWN するということは
できないのでしょうか？

ちなみに、identdが動いていないホストというのは、
Windows XP Home Edition なのですが、
Win XP HE で identd と同等のサービスは
動かせるのでしょうか？
