DSEE problem

We're starting to do a lot of heterogenous DSEE building, and
we frequently get problems such as

Completed "create_viewpoint_ramsc_asygaen6" on apollo //gollum (2e8d8)
Build create_viewpoint_ramsc_asygaen6!31-Mar-1993.14:38:35
?(DSEE) Unable to read translator output file "//gollum/sys/node_data/tmp/dsee_stdout_5f0f528a.a002e8d8.2" -
requested object is in use (stream manager/IOS)
(WARNING) Component "create_viewpoint_ramsc_asygaen6" has not been built.

We get this for both Apollo and HP/UX builders. It is random
and not repeatable. In any large number of builds, there will almost
always be some failures.

DSEE node is 425t, 10.4
Builder is either the same, or a 755 running HP/UX 9.0something

Any thoughts on how to fix this? DSEE is apparently redirecting standard
output to this file until the build is done, which is OK, but why is
it sometimes in use when it tries to read it? Especially when an Apollo builder
is involved?
