As I know you hang out in alt.folklore.urban, I thought you might like
to know that next Sunday at 8pm, Project X is doing Japanese Urban
Legends or somesuch sort of program. The wee trailer that they had
suggested that people say the pedestrian sign - the blue sign with the
adult leading the kid by the hand - actually means a kiddie's been
murdered on that street...

I wonder if they'll do Michael's story from a couple of years back
about the gaigin kidnapper at TDL?

Thanks for the info--I don't often watch the broadcast channels
nowadays. Don't even buy a TV guide any more (as in: what channel?).

Haven't heard that one.

Hmmmmm.... they can't do many of the gaigin-related ULs at that time
slot.... Except the redeye one, of course.

Thanks. But actually it is NTV's "Tokumei Research 200X" (channel 4 in the
Kanto area).

Maybe they'll also do the one about how a small regional bank went bankrupt
after a false rumour was spread that it was in financial trouble, causing
everyone to withdraw their money.

PMFJI, but as I see this word popping up again,
what is a "gaigin"?

TIA,
Kim

Does your dictionary contain the word "shibboleth"? (Or "sibboleth", and
I must be thick because I've only just now realised how appropriate it
would be for a Japanese-language context....)

Hi Bryan,

Thanks for your remark. I know very well that
"gaigin" is a misspelled gaijin, 外人.

I asked the question just for the heck of it,
and yes, there was some haul.

Rgds.

Hard as I may try to separate Louise from her title as FJLIJ's Pun
Queen. I just can't liquor. Shay's way too hard to snare.

That's right. Mike would kick your arse if you liquored her.

Only if he didn't exhaust more genteel methods such as gifts of
flowers and jewelry first.

That was fun--thanks for the heads-up. The little linking segments were
a pain, but otherwise I started wondering if they know about MythBusters
(and when will that appear on cable here?)?

Maybe next week? They didn't get around to discussing the sewergator
that was implied by the scenes behind the initial credits, after all.
