Buying kindle editions of Japanese fiction (in Japanese) from Amazon.co.jp? I'm in the U.S with an Amazon.com account

Does anyone know how to do this? For example, fiction by 星新一 , 有吉 佐和子 , 内田 康夫 .

amazon.co.jp will allow you to set up as "matomete" account between
Japan and the US. Ask your local Amazon Kindle Support and they should
be able to set it up for you. You can view books in both languages, all
priced in your local currency.

My wife orders from Amazon.jp all the time. She just pays the $ equivalent of
yen.

What to do?

I had a similar issue trying to buy an mp3 (Fad Gadget's "Spare the Child").
I couldn't get it in the US but it was available in the UK. I got around
it by finding a UK proxy, and downloading through that.

Anyone got a list of Japanese proxies?
