Moved up to B-Flets the other day - well to be precise - added B-Flets to my
existing cable connection.

The cable is running through a Buffalo WLAR-L11G-L wireless router. The
router runs fine - cable service is another thing - I don't think my ISP
welcomes the 2 gigs a day up and down that I seem to get through - mainly
Bittorrents. I often lose the cable signal and have to reset the modem.

Anyway - I'm crap at networks - so want to ask someone else who has B-Flets
AND an older Buffalo wireless router how they configured it or if they just
went out and bought a new model that is specifically designed to operate
with fiber optic connections.

If all else fails I'm not adverse to sticking with both services and just
run the b-flets directly to my main workstation. Next, of course, I'm going
to HAVE to do something about storage. Anyone bought a DVD recorder
recently?

I don't know the Buffalo range but Flets is PPPoE (Point to Point Protocol over
Ethernet) so your router has to have PPP validation then "strip off" the PPP and
give you plain ethernet. NTT has a cheap PPPoE router for around 9000yen that
does the trick, you could plug the Buffalo router into that.

I paid 23,700 yen at PC Depot. They had slower
models on sale for 17,800 too. Last time I checked
the prices on these things they were double what
they are now. I love you. Uhhhhhhh, *it*.

I take it you're using it strictly for home movies...

And you guys think *we* don't understand irony.

P.S. - I've got a friend that's having a hard time
finding the PS2-DivX hakc.

Are you able to configure your router in English? Mine came with
Japanese software.
As for your 2 gig dl/ul your ISP probably doesn't care, assuming you
have unlimited access.
I average about 80 gigs a month ul/dl & haven't heard a peep from my
provider for 2 years.
If you burn to keep your DVD's, then a recorder would be good, but if
you dl, burn & watch then give away if you don't like it, then it's a
waste of money since CD's are about 30 yen a piece.
