An especially disturbing letter from the usual source...

========
If he were my child

The 14-year-old Kobe boy who killed at least two children in 1997, beheading
one of them, is soon to be set loose following his "rehabilitation" in a
juvenile correctional institute. The 12-year-old who killed "Shun-kun" in
Nagasaki on July 1 will no doubt be similarly treated because of his age.

As a woman who has given birth to two children, I would not wait for the law
to take its course and set my child "free" without consideration for the
victims. I would personally strangle any child of mine who committed such an
act so that such a reprehensible thing would not be repeated. They could
hang me for it, but I would have no way to make compensation to the victim's
parents. I would not blame myself for what my child did, but I would not
forgive my child for taking another's life.

They make much of the pain a woman experiences for giving birth to a child,
but such pain must be nothing compared to that of the mother whose child has
been killed.

Red neck center of Japan. Those guys on the thin strip of land between the
Tamagawa and Nanbu-sen are the worst.

What is it with women and this labor pain crap. I mean, is labor pain the
only thing that makes having a baby special?

Especially the part "I would personally strangle any child of mine who
committed such an
act so that..." is ultimate bull.

Slight clarification: 14 at the time of the crime (May 24, 1997)

>who killed at least two children in 1997,

He started out with killing cats and pigeons.

Before the beheading incident, he whacked two 6th grade girls over the
head with a hammer (Feb. 10, 1997).

On March 16, 1997, he stabbed a 4th grade girl in the gut. He then
whacked another 4th grade girl over the head with a hammer, killing
her.

If you can find a copy of the July 2, 1997 edition of "Focus", you can
see a picture of his face. Lots of outlets refused to sell it. The
ones that did carry it quickly sold out.

Interestingly, my wife has never once mentioned anything about her
labor pains. Maybe she was just lucky and didn't have that much (she
actually says this).

Obviously a person who has no child, and probably shouldn't.
