My father used to sing me a song about a snail climbing up a pole. It's kind
of a old song, circa World War II. It's been a while since I sang it, now I
barely know the whole song. Anyone who remembers this song please reply to
me.

Any help will be appreciated, it's has a sentimental value to me.

Thanks.

I think Kenji Adzuma will be able to help us with this one. (*_*)

I believe they are:

Den den mushi mushi katatsumuri.
Omae no atama wa doko ni aru?
Tsuno dase, yari dase, medama dase.

The title of the melody is "Kata tsumuri" (snail)

Denden mushi mushi kata tsumuri

Omae no atama wa doko ni aru

Tsuno dase yari dase atama dase

Denden mushi mushi kata tsumuri
Omae no medama wa doko ni aru
Tsuno dase yari dase medama dase

でんでん虫々カタツムリ
お前の頭はどこにある
角出せ、ヤリ出せ、頭出せ

でんでん虫々カタツムリ
お前の目玉はどこにある
角出せ、ヤリ出せ、目玉出せ

Translated (by me):
Oh snail, oh snail,
where is your head?
show us your horn, show us your spear, show us your head

Oh snail, oh snail,
where are your eye-balls?
show us your horn, show us your spear, show us your eye-balls

BTW, in case you want a Karaoke for the lyrics... :-)
It's the 12th tune in the following page

Eyeballs? Did someone say eyeballs?
