I thought this one was *much* more tolerable than the previous one.
Much shorter, did not have those ridiculous kanji breakdown sections,
and generally the guy just seems to have a better clue than the
previous person.

I agree. There's nothing wrong with being clueless about Japan - we all are
at some point, many of us remain so. It's how you approach your cluelessness
that matters, IMO, and I think he approaches his the right way. He also
seems to have picked up a clue or two a lot faster than most. I think those
are the main factors separating the Third Boob from this one. That and the
fact that the Third Boob is a total shithead.

Well, the portrayal of JETs is slightly innacurate.
Many of us teach only 13-year olds and below.
