I'm using acucobol for my development, i try to develop a cobol program to
load any bitmap to display and print out, example like paintbrust.

Does any one know any way to display a bitmap and printing bitmap.

The program should be flexible to load any bitmap without recompile the
program.

Does there any third party software that i can call & pass in the bitmap
file name to allow it to display and print out.

thanks

COBOL sp2 is a 3rd party software product which supports the ability
to display bitmaps from an Acucobol program. Both our 16 bit Windows
version as well as our 32 bit Windows version supports this
capability.

Low,

The bitmap can be created either in the screen section, or in the
procedure division:

01 MY-SCREEN.
03 MY-BMP BITMAP LINE 3.45 COL 3.25
BITMAP-HANDLE MY-BMP-HANDLE
LINES 67 SIZE 120.

or

DISPLAY BITMAP LINE 12.4 COL 3.25
BITMAP-HANDLE MY-BMP-HANDLE
LINES 67 SIZE 120.

(for example!)

Before you create the bitmap, you'll need to load the image:

MOVE "..\MYPIC.BMP" TO WS-BITMAP-NAME

CALL "W$BITMAP" USING WBITMAP-LOAD, WS-BITMAP-NAME
GIVING MY-BMP-HANDLE.

and you're done.

This is a very quick and dirty explanation, so it's probably not that
clear. You can get more information from section 5.14 of the user
interface programming book in the manual set.

I hope this helps!

Best regards

Nigel
