故障が発生した場合に、
　故障箇所を破棄したり、被害を最小限に押さえながら、
　ある程度の仕事（処理能力は落ちる）をすることをいいます。

　使えるところだけ使って、できる限りシステムを稼動させようという
　考え方です。
